this app used to work well under older versions of OSX but the latest version from 2015 has probems with Sierra it sees the USB serial ports but I can t send receive data it crashes on disconnect I know the serial dongles still work with other older apps under Sierra so             Crashes CrashyCrashy123

This application is free and provides the essentials for connecting your Mac to a remote device etc via serial communication link In fact it works better than most of the other for pay serial monitor apps in the Mac store In my case I was using a CDC driver for serial communication over USB to connect to the UART of a development board The driver appeared in the drop down list as expected and this application connected with and displayed all of the strings coming out of the UART while the target application was running Definitely worth taking a look at this application and well worth the price free Thanks for taking the time to develop it and making it available for free                 Decent serial I O app Mellis63

There are some over priced software products out there for using your USB port to access the serial console on a Router but this one was Free and does a very nice job I had a new Router that needed to have new Firmware flashed before the web interface would be effective and I was able to connect to the Serial Console immediately after setting the proper speed setting in the software I used a US 10 cable from an online store I am very pleased with this products and after a day of extensive Connect Disconnect Exit Launch Connect Disconnect rince and repeat I had no issues with this software at all I m really not sure what the source of the poor ratings is but I had no such experience with a Late 2013 Mac Pro and an FTDI USB RJ45 serial cable                     Works Great for EdgeRouter Serial Console under High Sierra Zzyzx Oh

This is a must have app for developers who need to debug serial communications with external devices My only complaint is that the 14400 bps baud rate is not supported In fact it would be an awesome feature to be able to enter an arbitrary baud rate as well                 I love this tool mstroven

It s better than nothing but this isn t really a proper terminal emulator It is really just a simple debugging tool If you need a proper terminal emulator you re better off installing Minicom or something         Barebones troubleshooting tool at best due to poor defaults non existent terminal emulation xenophonf

I m trying to troubleshoot a device that is using a Prolific 2303 Serial to USB converter I am getting garbage data from SerialTools but that is probably just my device I am debugging Much worse is that SerialTools crashes CONSTANTLY for me I would say every fourth or fifth click results in a crash It s amazing that something as simple as a serial terminal is so complicated now I think this tool is really a perfect fit for me if it just worked reliably         Very buggy E brews

When using a USB Serial adaptor such as the one presented by the mbed dev board programmers Serial Tools will irreparibly crash should the serial endpoint vanish while connected Solution delete the application and reinstall Unfortunately the mbed serial disappears every time the board is programmed             Important Bug Thomas [384e3f39]

I have a legacy device that runs at 4800 baud In standard mode characters echoed from my device do not show up In RAW mode it appears the returned characters are 0x40 less than they should be Not sure why All I know is that this works on my Windows machine and not on my MAC     Doesn t work Steve Limey

I use Mountian Lion with a Keyspan adaptor The letters I type show up twice ex If I type sh run it shows up sshh rruunn It doesn t affect the commands they still work Also I cannot backspace and passwords just show plain text as you type them Otherwise it does exactly what I need it to do                     Can The Filard
