Its animation makes learning signs easy A very good starting vocabulary which developer says will be increased in updates The suggestions as to improving the quiz mode are spot on and should also include a learning mode so when you take the quiz you can mark cards you know you still need to learn As some one mentioned it is easy to guess many of the cards when you know the choices of the multiple choice answers so these multiple choice answers should not be cards that you have gotten correct or you could check off all the words that you do know which should prevent them from being possible answers during quiz mode Regional variations would be really great as well my ASL instructor has some signs which this program shows as quite different Another helpful addition would be a learning section of similar signs where say class and clouds would be cleary displayed and notated how they differ Finally a mention of the cost yes this is a slightly expensive program it was no doubt a lot of work to create and will be to maintain Lets be fair the prospective audience to purchase this program is small by paying a fair price for a great program should help motivate the programmer to continue improving and expanding this highly valuable resource                 This is the best ASL dictionary on the iPhoneiTouch

I bought this two weeks ago and loved it after three days of use the program quit working and I looked for an update It still will not work Im highly disatisfied I spent 800 on a non working program     Horrible

I am very impressed by this app for its functionality I use it to quiz myself as well as to look up words The animations are excellent and easy to understand and I can see the care that went into choosing the vantage points I hope to see many more words added to the dictionary because tight now its limited I would also love a notes feature so that I can write notes about variations of the inividual signs Overall a very well executed product                 Well done Want even more words

This app is amazing Beautifully animated signs Easy to find any sign using the alphabetical or category listings favorites or search function Quiz function aids learning Tons of signscontains signs that arent even in the huge sign dictionary on my bookshelf You wont regret buying this one                 Fantastic

Ive actually tried all the other signing apps except the 20 some dollar one the one with three versions and this ones use of angles and facial expressions makes it one of th easiest to learn from                 Great Signing App

Love the app im in ASL classes as a high school seinor and this thing is incredable only downside i have is it is somewhat slow and buggy at times but love the full demonstrations incredable work now only if it could do my home work haha              love this

Kudos to the author for this excellent software As a beginner in ASL I appreciate having a program full of commonly used signs so I can study and review from my iPhone any time I want The animation is easy to follow and the categories are numerous I emailed the author of the software with suggestions and literally heard back from him within minutes This kind of response proves the author sincerely cares about customer feedback and I fully support his efforts Way to go              Very Nicely Done

I luv this app ive learned soooo much quicker with this than i even thought was possible the only thing i would want to add is a looping system so u can learn 1word then the next word will pop up              The best

Im in ASL 1 and it is proving to be a very difficult class In looking for things that will help me pass I came across 3 adult oriented and complete not just fingerspelling ASL programs Theres not much variety as far as ASL programs go here in the app store but of the 3 comparable programs available this one is by far the best Theres another one Sign Smith that has animations but 2999 and no quiz mode No way Get real people Most apps of that price range are worth the money but in looking at the features of the 3 programs sidebyside this one wins hands down The Ultimate ASL program for 499 is also good because it lets you make your own list of words to be quizzed on very important if you are in beginning ASL but it just has drawings so if you dont mind the 5 bucks it is a good supplement to this one This one has FANTASTIC animation that shows the sign from different angles than just straight on when needed The quiz mode is good but I would gladly pay extra for this one to be able to create my own word list for the quiz iSign is so impressive that it will become the standard by which other ASL programs are judged                 By far the best app of its kind

Many of these signs are nearly impossible to understand And some of them are not ASL but signed English        Difficult to understand

I have bought most every ASL app in the AppStore and I use this one the most I am a big fan of how this App is laid out and all the signs that it includes The reason I can only give this App 3 stars though is because it is missing some key elements There is no way to track words that you know except through favorites This needs a way to track how many times you get an item correct in the quiz mode and if you get it right continuously it should have an option to remove that from the quiz AN OPTION My biggest complaint comes in terms of scope of vocabulary though While this App is the best for its price hands down it leaves out basics like all the months Even though it does have JanuaryApril and you should be able to figure out the rest it simply leaves them out I havent seen a vocabulary update yet Had the App for about a month which is a shame 800 words is nice but not anywhere near sufficient It would also be nice to have some variations of the words if there are different ways of saying it This will get a 4 star if the developer simply adds the rest of the months instead of leaving them out Yes that is worth a star to me This will get a 5 star if the developer adding some words in updates like 25 a quarter I know this will make the app larger but it will truly be worth the size increase Up until about 100MB anyway           Missing Some Key Items But Great App Overall Easily Best ASL App

This application is awesome Im an ASL student in college and I use this to remind myself when I forget random signs Only down side is that it is huge I downloaded it on a very fast university network and it took between 5 and 10 minutes to download and install It has a lot of the basic signs from the first two semestersbut doesnt get into some of the more complicated later ones But I dont think that is what it was made for Its great for learning the basics and refreshing your memory on the ones you might forget if you dont use them every day The animation is great because images arent always clear It is by no means an ASL dictionary but the creator plans to add up to 100 more signs in updates I use this along with the ASL app that uses images and text to review words anywhere I need to Ill be looking forward to the updates and will try to help with requesting words Thanks to the creator for a great application My ASL professor will be impressed                 Great application

I had very high hopes for this app but after downloading the 499 app i realized it was SIGNED ENGLISH not ASL Signed English is an old language that is not used in the deaf community anymore Plus many of the signs are very difficult to read or understand Also as sign is a non manual language facial expression and body movement determine context and language intent This app did not apply any of those indicators As i do know sign langauge its a nice reminder for signs I have learned in the past but wasnt sure and needed a quick recall disappointing though     disappointingNOT AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE

We had been waiting for a good ASL Sign Language program to show up on the iPhone and this is it The graphics for the signs are extremely well done and very easy to see and understand I am a hearing person who has a deaf person in our family and have been attempting to learn ASL This is just the tool that I needed The only additional thing that I would like to see is an expansion of the number of vocabularysigns that are currently available in the program                 Excellent Work

I like the animations but it needs a lot of work with selecting words It doesnt show a highlighting color after u select a word A lot of words are missing Not worth 499 Should be 99        Its ok

I am a sign language student and its great having a dictonary wherever I go The only thing I would suggest is to spruce up re animations a little Just to make them a bit less robotic Great product              Great product

This is an incredible tool The animations are very good My husband mentors a deaf teenager and we know little more than the alphabet This is a great pocket tool to help with keywords I would love to see the developers expand the terminology list overtime I highly recommend this tool                 Awesome

This app is great Very helpful to me working at a school with a large hearing impaired population Just one thing though Whenever I click on youre welcome the program quits So far thats the only sign that Ive encountered this              Great app

Im currently enrolled in an ASL II class and this app has come in very handy for looking up signs Also because it is availiable on your iPhone or iPodTouch it is quick and easy to access What is even better is the fact that the developer is continuing to work on the app and is offering free upgrades to individuals who already own iSign The one thing I would like to see is the ability to search for a sign As the application grows it will be very nice to type in a word and the app would bring back the sign or signs related to that word                 Great Application

I was hoping to use this app to help my Sunday school class learn their Bible memory verses Unfortunately none of the words are in here Im sure more words will be added at some point but for 499 I have to admit I expected a lot more I am also not interested in teaching them the wrong signs as we have a fairly large hearingimpaired population at our church Guess for now I will just continue to drag my books to class        Not Good for Sunday School

This is probably one of the best ASL apps out there I purchased it a while back and I was very impressed Now with a quiz feature makes this app even more useful I am going to be a deaf studies major as well as an interpreter for youth ministries this app will and does help me study in preperation for my major My signing was mediocre and has improved greatly in recent weeks I hope in future updates they will add religious signs Kudos to you for such a great app                 One of the best
