Flash Notes is the perfect way to help individuals learn to read music notes quickly. Choose if you would like to practice notes from the alto clef, bass clef, tenor clef, treble clef, or any ...
I love this app and would definitely reccomend it to anyone who is trying to improve their sight reading abilities I just got the new update with the sounds and the app just got better Now Im sight reading and ear training all for 99 cents The only issue I have with the app is that it is not motivating in any way Maybe add a scoring system so that people can have something to improve on Add a history or a graph of their progress to show that the hard work and time using your app is paying off Lastly add a functionoption that automatically resets new cards once you are done with the ones on screen I know its not a big consumption of energy to reach up and hit the old reset button but lets get that automatic Great app guys              Great app almost perfect
Great app for reviewing notes                 Good
For this product to be worth the price it needs more options How about Bb and Eb instruments and maybe alto and tenor clef I feel slightly ripped off having paid 199 for an app as simple as this one     Add more clef options
Preface I studied music for over 12 years from grade school through college and my daughter is learning music now while Im trying to learn piano my earlier instruction was in clarinet sax and voice I bought this app and the competing app iReadMusic at the same time to see which would be best for my daughter to learn to sight read and for me to better learn how to read bass clef I used each for at least ten minutes to get a good feel for each one Both apps have the same goal let someone learn to sight read notes on the staff and tie those notes to a piano keyboard or with iReadMusic guitar or other stringed instruments Flash Notes is OK for learning the notations so that you can recognize a C4 or Aflat 2 or Dsharp 5 and learn which white or black key in the 12key chromatic scale each one corresponds to But that seems to be it for this app where iReadMusic goes several steps further iReadMusic shows you a nearly full keyboard so that you see exactly where each note on the staff lies relative to the physical keyboard It also plays the notes as you identify them letting you tie the sound to the written note and develop a stronger association It also has a mode where you play the note on a 12key keyboard so that you solidly learn the association between piano key and written note rather than just flipping over a flash card and seeing the key highlighted The act of actually playing the key while looking at the note really reinforces the connection so that when I go to the real keyboard Im finding that I more easily remember where to place my hands iReadMusic is three times the price of Flash Notes so its understandable that its a more complete app Flash Notes will do for learning the initial basics of reading music but if youre like me and are trying to learn piano or guitar the more complete approach of iReadMusic will take you further for just a few dollars more           Doesnt tie thing together as neatly as other music notation apps
    Limited features Worth 1           Limited
It would be really nice if you added alto clef and the other clefs as well                 Great
Very helpful flash card app for memorizing notes on various clefs Easily worth the 199 in that respect Wish it also had chords which would in my mind really make it feature complete              Excellent start
As others have mentioned the cards are small but they are still quite readable I have about 4 music reading programs on my iphone and I find that I am using this one as much andor more than the others since it loads quickly and allows me to do a quick review from time to time Its well worth the price and highly recommended              Works well for what it is
Good basic app Def helps to improve site reading                 Musician
I am very pleased I got this to practice quick recognition of notes above and below the staff I appreciate the fact that this is not only useful to piano players I am a woodwind player and dont need to use the bass clef Great options you can turn on or off notes way above and below the staff This is the best 99 cents Ive spent in ages                 Great application
I wish there was a way to try this out before buying One of the reasons I picked this one over other flashcardlike apps is that it supposedly plays sound Except it doesnt Not a Peep Hopefully Theyll fix this        Sounds Do Not Work
Good app for people who are just starting to learn how to read notes For the price I dont expect much out of it At least the program hasnt crashed on me yet Would be better if we were given series of notes and able to hear each note as we flip them Another improvement that they can make is to let the user specify the range of notes that they want to practice on Remembering what notes the user misses the most and focus on those are also nice to have              Simple and effective
this app has no sounds to corespond with the notes        pointless
Should have piano key picture and sound instead of alphabets        Too simple
I bought the original and it was super helpful when I was learning to play piano The new version has tons of cool updates Cant wait to play around with it more                 Repeat buyer
Ive resisted learning to read music for a long time but this app makes it pretty easy Tap the notes in whatever clef you choose to see the note names on the other side Flash cards for notes Perhaps the only thing that would make it better would be a timed mode to add the option of stress                 Very Helpful
However wish I could specify the range of notes to practice           Good
Would like to see fewer notes so far above and below the staffs as well as fewer notes that arent on the keyboard like F flat and B sharp Adding a section for recognizing various inversions of chords would be a great addition too              Not bad
My 6year old and I have a bit of a hard time seeing the tiny lines and notes I think there are too many flash cards on the screen One very useful feature to have is to play the notes           Useful but
I learned my notes really good buy it musicians                 Yes
Nice start To be useful for beginner need to be able to restrict notes to those they have learned Audible notes would be nice to           Not progressive
Can you please add the option to also see where the notes on the bars are on the piano to make a better learning experience Thanks                 Please make this change in an update
This is a basic app for learning to read music and it does its job fairly wellunless youre trying to learn bass clef and turn on upper ledger lines Every single time Ive tried to touch an image of notes on upper ledger lines the app quits Not exactly helpful for a beginning cellist you know Please fix this bug Id happily change my rating to 4 stars if it were a reliable tool        Fix crashes and it would be decent
This application is about as concise as you can get with all of the features packed into it These guys did a nice job of cramming as much information about the notes into as small a space as possible I noticed that many of the features such as sound and showing notes on the piano requested by customers have been implemented Always nice to see a company that listens to their users                 Very Efficient Tool
