Ethernet Status adds the missing icon in status bar to indicate the connection status of the ethernet interface on MacOS similar to WIFI status. WIFI status has an icon built in MacOS, but there is ...
Only complaint is that when my iPhone is connected via USB it shows as ethernet connected                 Very handy sugilbert
The free version only provides connection verification and the broadband IP address For all other features you have to upgrade to the paid version It is disappointing that the developer does not state the differences between the two as if he did I would not have wasted my time downloading and checking out the free version which is really a mostly disabled trial version In my opinion this is a form of bait and switch I have removed the app from my system as their are many other menu apps that accomplish the same function as the free version of this one and I do not need to have another app taking up more RAM on my system that only duplicate what I already have such as Fast Tasks Connection and many others             Free vs Paid version differences Jim.W
Thanks for this app So much nicer than having to hold down the option key while clicking the WiFi icon to see wired or other connection s info This makes more sense                     Pretty handy xSyKoTiKx
This app provides solid functionality and fills a gap apple left a long time ago in MacOS Based on my comment about a prior version the developer updated the app to give an option to disable public IP lookup network communication and status reporting This is a great tool                     Solid functionality fills a longstanding gap logich
Works so far I notice it puts the public IP address in the pull down 1 Does it get this from my modem or the router 2 Why not show the LAN address It woul be nice to hover over and see the LAN ip or show in pull down                 Useful utility Works ipbabble
I regularly plug my MacBook into a Gigabit switch to transfer media to my file server It s nice to have an indicator that the ethernet is actually plugged in because on my Mac my port is finicky This lets me know when it s plugged in so I can start transferring Great app                     Exactly what I needed Hunter Stanton
Great simple enough to use                     Thanks for the stuffs viethai1368
Taking it exactly at face value this app is probably what you re looking for My only complaint is that it doesn t quite behave like a native icon would there s no verbose output when doing Option Click on the icon like you get with the Wifi and Bluetooth icons Otherwise it s perfect                 Pretty much exactly what I was looking for RulerOf
Not much else to say this app is exactly what Apple should already have on the menu bar The icon looks just like an Apple icon and it doesn t have any bloatware or ads that come with it                     Exactly what I needed jmiller101
App works as expected Working with 3rd part USB to Ethernet adapters Would be nice to have a higher resolution icon as the icon is not optimized for newer displays                 High Res Menu bar icon please UncleBob, this is Enrique
Works great for me in Sierra Simple but nice to have quick feedback on wired connectivity and current IP address Would love to have a feature where it would trigger a notification if the IP changed or if the connection was lost Would also be nice if the hardware MAC address would show in the menu update the Start at login option doesn t seem to work so I set it up manually in System Preferences                     Handy menu item SurferGeek
It claims to support OS10 9 It installed shows up in Applications but before and after a system reboot there is no icon in the toolbar and nothing happens when you select it in the applications window or list It gives no response as if it were not there They took my money however Now it they need to give me an application that works Right now they owe me a refund and apology     It takes your money but does not work in OS10 9 SeattleG
Simple program but delivers what I want When my friend asks if I have Internet troubles too I don t need to start a browser since now I can see this indicator in the menu bar                     Delivers What It Says SilasWillRock
