Anne`s Amsterdam

I saw the app advertised during a visit to the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and Im glad I downloaded it As the description says you actually need to follow the GPSaware map and go around the city and discover the different items to unlock photos and videos and text about events that actually happened at each location or additional info related to Anne Franks story or the related events of the time I was motivated to collect all the items and managed to get all but one before leaving the city It was almost like a free selfguided walking tour and the info revealed each time I unlocked an item was always interesting You can also watch the videos later on after youve unlocked items so as not to eat up your data plan while walking around A few things that would make the app even better 1 A notification if you happen to be near one of the items For instance I realized after spending an afternoon at Vondelpark that there was an item to be discovered there So I had to go back the next day to find it 2 Better map software or integration with iOS Maps The builtin map shows you were you are with a blue dot and where the different items are But it would be nice to be able to get walking directions or have the option to see which way youre facing like you can do in the Maps app at least on iOS 5 3 Full offline mode Since I was on an international data plan I would have preferred that the app not use cellular data while walking around However it has to have a signal in order to unlock an item There were even a couple times when I had trouble picking up a signal and thus difficulty unlocking items 4 The ability to log into a web site to view the items on your computer after youve unlocked them rather than having to rely on the iPhone app Overall an excellent app and definitely worth downloading if you have some free time in Amsterdam Of course be sure to go to the Anne Frank House too I just hope theyll keep the app uptodate to work on future versions of iOS and add new items so I can use it again next time I visit Amsterdam              Wonderful complement to a visit to the Anne Frank House

This would be great if you could view this while in line for the museum or from abroad Please unlock the items           Great idea but unlock items

This thing wont let u click anything u have 2 b in Germany to look and find things       

She inspired me to write and this app is a great way of reminding myself of that inspiration                 Sweet

I downloaded this app while in Amsterdam hoping for more insight into Annes true life story I really like the user interface programming and the map of Amsterdam behind it is a really decent map but theres something slightly unsavory about creating a game out of this 14year old girls death at the hand of the Nazis I understand never forget and Anne has always put a human face to the horrors of the Holocaust but here in Amsterdam her image and story have become big business The tour of her house despite the 2hour wait in line is well worthwhile for the sobering stark reality check I will not be reenacting Annes life and collecting all 30 tokens The point of Annes story is not how she lived It is how she died        Anne Frank Inc

I cant watch anything on this app because I Have to move closer to pick it up     You have to be in Amsterdam

i would enjoy to learn more about Anne but I cannot I found the first item and then when I tried to continue to explore Amsterdam it kept telling me I had to get closer     annes amsterdam
